First child of Miles Murtha O'Brien and Lillian Josephine Robertson, born in 1928 — the same year her parents married at Our Lady of Lourdes Church in Brooklyn. Named for her mother, she was the one who arrived first, the beginning of the family that Miles the carpenter and Lillian the orphan would build together.
Lillian Marie married Dr. Severino Joseph Ambrosio, a physician, and together they raised their family in the Old Bridge and Parlin areas of New Jersey. She knew both great joy and profound loss — welcoming eight children, four of whom died in infancy or early childhood.
